Admissions & Enrollment
Oceans Academy serves grades 3 through 12, plus a standalone Qur’an & Hifdh track for families who want a Qur’an-focused program on its own.
Enrollment is open year round, as long as there is space in your child’s grade. Classes are small (about 15 students each), so spots do fill. It helps to schedule a visit and start the process early rather than waiting until closer to the school year.
Admissions starts with a short online application. From there, you will submit the required documents and take part in an initial interview with your child and family. Our admissions team reviews everything submitted, and once a family clears that assessment, a final interview completes the process. Many families schedule a visit first, so they know us before they apply.
You will need your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, physical forms, report card history from their previous school, and a recent photo. Our staff will walk you through the full checklist when you visit or apply.

Yes. Qur’an & Hifdh runs as its own standalone track alongside the full Qur’an plus Academic program, so families can choose whichever option fits their child.
Academics & Curriculum
Our Islamic studies curriculum is built on The Clear Qur’an, Seerah, the 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi, Tafsir through the Bayyinah program, and Arabic through a partnership with Fawakih. Core academic subjects, including English, Math, Science and Social Studies, run alongside this Islamic foundation.
Classes run small on purpose, about 15 students on average, with a 15:1 student to staff ratio, so teachers can know each child individually.
Yes. Oceans Academy offers AP and Honors courses, and students in 10th grade or higher with a 3.0 GPA or better can take college-level classes through our dual enrollment partnership with NOVA (Northern Virginia Community College).
Students take a full slate of core academics, English, Math, Science and Social Studies, alongside Qur’an, Islamic Studies, Arabic, Art and Physical Education. High schoolers also have access to AP, Honors and dual enrollment coursework.
It is about fit, not ranking. The school reviews how your child has done at their previous school, including behaviour, alongside what you want for them academically and in their Islamic learning. A decision follows a thorough review of all of it, so both you and the school can be confident this is the right place for your child.
Yes. The dress code is built around modesty and applies across all grades. The specifics are shared with families during enrollment.
No transportation service is offered at this time. Families arrange their own drop-off and pick-up.
No, students bring their own food. The day breaks at midday for salah and lunch together before the afternoon classes.
The building closes, but the school day does not stop. Students move to virtual classes and assigned homework activities for the day. Closures are sent to enrolled families by email.

Qur’an & Hifdh
The Qur’an program runs mornings, 8am to 12pm, Monday through Friday. Students work in small circles on recitation, Tajweed and memorization with instructors who tailor pace to each child.
The standalone Qur’an & Hifdh track runs 8am to 12pm. Students enrolled in the full Qur’an plus Academic program continue into core academic subjects for the rest of the school day.
Beyond memorization (Hifdh), students study Tafsir through the Bayyinah program, Seerah, the 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi, and Arabic through our Fawakih partnership, so understanding grows alongside memorization.
Daily Life & Logistics
Our office is open 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. The Qur’an program runs 8am to 12pm within that window.
The day opens with Qur’an and Hifdh in small circles, moves into core academics through the late morning, breaks for salah and lunch from home at midday, then continues with Islamic Studies and electives like Art, PE and Computer Lab in the afternoon before dismissal.
Yes. After care is available for students who need it after dismissal. The school is confirming the exact hours and activities right now, so ask the Director for the current arrangement when you visit.
Students can join 10+ clubs and organizations, plus interactive workshops, creative projects and field trips throughout the year, all woven around the academic and Islamic studies schedule.

Tuition & Affordability
Tuition varies by program and by family, so we do not post a single number online. The most helpful way to get real figures for your child’s grade is to schedule a visit and sit down with our Director, who will walk you through the options in person.
Yes. Financial assistance, payment plan options, and considerations for enrolling more than one child are all available for qualifying families. We discuss what applies to your situation directly during your visit, because every household is different, not through a generic online form.
Enrollment covers your child’s core supplies, books and teaching materials, along with field trips throughout the year. Our Director can walk you through the full breakdown when you visit or apply.
Visiting the School
Yes, and we encourage it. Visits are in person, on campus, during a real school day, with no obligation and no application required first.
You will walk the building, see classrooms and a Qur’an circle in session, meet our teachers, and sit down with the Director to talk through your child’s grade and any questions, including tuition and financial assistance. Most visits run about 45 minutes to an hour.
